US co-working space operator NeueHouse has signed for 66,000 sq ft at Blackstone’s Adelphi Building for its first UK premises.
NeueHouse, which opened its first property in New York in 2013 and will soon open another in Los Angeles, is believed to be paying more than £70 per sq ft for its space on the first and second floors.
Blackstone acquired the Adelphi Building in December 2012 and is working on a £30m refurbishment.
Ed Hodgson, leasing director for Blackstone, said: “We are thrilled that NeueHouse has chosen the Adelphi for its first location outside the US, kickstarting a network of global expansion. It is a real coup for London and of course the Adelphi, representing the perfect fit for this iconic building, one of the largest office buildings in London’s West End.”
NeueHouse co-founder Joshua Abram said: “NeueHouse members are leaders in the arts and the creative economy. It’s impossible to serve this group of supremely talented people without providing a home for them in London where many of them live – and through which all of them associate and transit.”
CBRE and Knight Frank advised Blackstone and Pilcher Hershman advised NeueHouse.
