The UK's economic recovery will be driven by innovation and growth in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), it has been claimed.
Derek Browne, chief executive and founder of Entrepreneurs in Action, said that educating young people to take advantage of the opportunities of enterprise is one of the business sector's most important challenges.
'National research shows how important small business growth and innovation will be to our economic recovery,' he added.
Mr Browne was speaking after last week's annual conference of the Federation of Small Businesses.
At the event, national chairman John Walker said that the government needs to create an economy fit for the UK's entrepreneurs.
'The UK's 4.8 million small businesses are best placed to help the recovery, but they need a helping hand,' he said.
These comments come in advance of the chancellor George Osborne's annual Budget announcement, which is due to be made at 12:30 GMT today (March 23rd).
