Women in Flex Manchester
Last week the Flexible Space Association held a Women in Flex event in Manchester, marking International Women’s Day.
This was the second such event, following the success of one in London in November.
The event was held in partnership with technologywithin, and hosted by Clockwise, both FlexSA member companies.
Whilst concerns over poor weather led to some last minute cancellations, we were happy to bring together a fantastic group of women working for flexible workspace operators.
The event took the form of two panels, followed by a networking reception. The first panel was hosted by Alexandra Livesey, COO of Clockwise, who spoke to Gal Leslie, Sales and Marketing Director at 2-Work, and Jane Erasmus, Sales and Marketing Director at UBC. They discussed their own career paths in the flexible workspace industry, and the opportunities that are available.
The second panel was hosted by Heather Gray, Director of Sales at Clockwise. She spoke with Freya Cross, Chairman of FlexSA’s Board, and Head of Corporate and Events at The Deep Business Centre in Hull, and with Hannah Al Shaghana, Partner at Beyond Corporate. They talked about balancing competing personal and work demands, the benefits of hybrid working (whilst acknowledging this is not open to many people within the sector), and gave some great tips on time-management.
The event culminated with a reception, and attendees were encouraged to introduce themselves to people they didn’t know in order to expand their industry network.
