Why Wizu Workspace Are Taking Their Flexible Model Out Of Town

Flexible workspace provider and Flexible Space Association member, Wizu Workspace, has just recently announced its expansion into its first out of town location, following the rising trend for businesses looking for flexible suburban workspace.

Wizu’s Co-Founder & MD, Tom Almas, explained why this move was so important to them and why now was the ideal time for this new expansion.

Tom, firstly, how has Wizu found the last year?

It’s certainly been a ride! I’m incredibly grateful for the strong team we have at Wizu and the loyalty of our members. Despite a tough 18 months for most, we’re almost at capacity at all of our city centre sites – something we’re incredibly proud of considering all the speculation on how the flexspace market was going to cope.

What made Wizu make the move into the suburban market?

Despite our record capacity levels at our city centre locations, in the last 6 months we have been inundated with requests for out-of-town space. Businesses are looking for somewhere where there is less dependence on public transport to city centres and where they can adopt their new hybrid format of centralised city centre office space and dispersed suburban office, to suit the changing needs of their workforce. The demand was there, so it was a no-brainer for us.

What made you choose Richmond at Lawnswood Business Park?

Our new Richmond workspace is a super-modern location surrounded by greenery, which suits our vibrant, forward-thinking brand.  The accessibility of the site, ultra-modern exterior aesthetics, light-flooded spaces and its picturesque setting really made it an ideal match.

And with most businesses finding the hiring market incredibly competitive right now, our new location offers the ideal opportunity to attract top talent, in an area which is abundant with bright professionals who will appreciate not having the long commute into work.

How will suburban Wizu compare to your city centre offering?

We plan to bring our popular membership model into the suburban space, with a new vibrant coworking space, flexible serviced offices for up to 250 workstations and all-inclusive meeting rooms. We’ll also continue to cater to a range of professional needs, offering both phone-booths and quiet spaces.

Will your existing members benefit from the space?

We pride ourselves on flexibility at Wizu, so our members will get access to the new suburban workspace on top of their existing city centre memberships – which means they can enjoy the use of additional coworking space, dedicated desks and meeting rooms as and when they need them.

How quickly do you expect to reach capacity at the new location?

The response so far speaks for itself – despite us only recently completing the agreement on Richmond we are already 25% prelet, so we know the demand for modern suburban workspace is strong.
