Making the Most of Our Belated Summer Weather

Summer’s back!  Whilst it’s frustrating for many that after time off in July and August with cool and wet weather they’re now back at their desks when sun and high temperatures have appeared, for those working in flexible workspaces there’s often the opportunity of great outside spaces on hand.

From courtyards to roof terraces, many workspaces benefit from outside space for clients to work in, run events or just take a break in better weather.  There are even workspaces within estates such as Fetcham Park in Surrey, allowing those that work there to enjoy the surrounding grounds.

Modern business parks have often been developed to include open spaces with trees or ponds, which can be enjoyed all year round, but are an added bonus when the sun’s out.

In the days when you can get work done from anywhere you have a WiFi or mobile phone signal, working outside is much more realistic.  Fetcham Park even offers the service of WiFi extending into its grounds.

Outside space is not only the preserve of rural workspaces, with many city centre buildings benefiting from roof terraces offering far-reaching views.  Bruntwood Works’ Blackfriars House and Cotton House in Manchester have tables and chairs to work from on their rooftop terraces, surrounded by beautiful planting.  Meanwhile in London, BE Offices regularly run events on their roof terraces, as well as providing a place for people to meet and work throughout the working day.

Bristol also seems to be a popular spot for rooftop working space, and a group on the Flexible Space Association tour of Origin Workspace in July found it hard to tear themselves away from the far-reaching views across the city!

Fresh air, a change of scenery and socialising with others all offer wellbeing benefits, making the addition of outside space at flexible workspaces a great benefit to those that work there.

Our Workspace Directory includes outside space in the list of services offered by each location, making it easy to find this facility.

We can’t promise the sunshine and warm weather is going to last for long, but we can point to flexible workspaces that allow you to make the most of it whilst it’s here!
