FlexSA Workspace Design Award

The Flexible Space Association Workspace Design Award recognises the best in design of new or refurbished flexible workspace.

This was the most hotly contested category of the Awards, highlighting the increased emphasis placed on the design of workspace.  Entries covered a wide variety of sizes and types of workspace, and included both brand new facilities and refurbished long-standing ones.

WINNER

Bruntwood Works, Bloc, Manchester

Bruntwood Works applied the latest thinking around wellness, productivity and work-life balance to transform a once corporate office building into a vibrant workplace oasis.  They have developed six key pillars for the design of workspaces, covering wellbeing, amenity, biophilia, technology, art and sustainability.

FINALIST

The Office Group, Liberty House, London

The Office Group’s Liberty House building once housed the store rooms for the Liberty department store, and its transformation to flexible workspace has drawn on the history and retail aesthetics from the store.  Colours, patterns and sculpted forms mirror the vibrant atmosphere of the area.

FINALIST

Co-Space, Stevenage

Co-Space Stevenage saw a town centre building previously used for retail and office use transformed into modern workspace, complete with a large roof-top terrace.  There was a high attention to detail, and even a display utilising the scar created from removing a stair case which now displays the history of the building’s previous uses.
