Excellence in Customer Service Award: Nene Business Centre

Continuing our review of the winners of our recent Excellence in Customer Service Awards, we’re today looking at the winners for the Midlands region.

Nene Business Centre, in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, was victorius in this category.  The current team assumed the management of the centre at the end of 2021, and have put significant work into substantially increasing client numbers, through enhancements to the building and services.

The award entry set out the journey taken, which began with a full makeover of the cafe and breakout area.  It has become the bustling heart of the building, and they also expanded its services to include meeting room catering.  The decision was taken to open the cafe up to the community, including neighbouring businesses, which proved a huge success.  It has also become a central hub for the building’s community.

The team have a passion for service delivery, and the entry from Centre Manager Delize, who leads the team, set out the role everyone plays:

From the warm welcome at the front desk by Joanne to the cheerful interactions with Shirley and Emilia, our housekeepers, to the ever-helpful Kieron, our Maintenance Engineer, each team member plays a crucial role. Tina and Helen contribute to a relaxing atmosphere with their delectable treats from the cafe.’ 

Their entry also recognised the role of the ‘8th member of the team’, a cat called Lucy!  She visits daily, greeting visitors, posing for selfies and lifting spirits.

The Nene Business Centre team were presented with the award at our recent Gala Dinner by the Chairman of the Flexible Space Association’s Board, Freya Cross, who is pictured on the right.
