Last year, the BCA kick-started a new campaign to raise funds for a very special charity - the Teenage Cancer Trust.
BCA Members, Trade Suppliers, business centre clients, colleagues, associates and friends right across the UK have been busy organising events and raising funds for the charity in ever-varying and imaginative ways.
To date, and with just over six weeks to go until the fundraising deadline - which coincides with the BCA's 25th Anniversary Conference 2015 - close to £12,000 has already been raised.
This is almost half of the BCA's fundraising target of £25,000 and is a fantastic achievement in just a few short months, proving that every little really does help.
The Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK national charity supporting young people aged 13-24 who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Most recently, the campaign has received a fantastic boost from BCA Member, Landmark Plc.
Landmark has been busily organising fundraising events across its London-based serviced office centres, including coffee mornings and cake sales, and has received an overwhelming response from generous clients and visitors.
Local businesses based within The City and West End also contributed fantastic prizes to Landmark's charity raffle. Prizes included a 19" colour TV, a £75 bar tab at Gherkin restaurant The Sterling, a signed boxing glove from Frank Bruno, signed football shirts, a Nintendo DS games console, and a three course meal at 1 Lombard Street.
In total, Landmark has raised a massive £2,890.45 for the BCA's charity fundraising campaign.
This enormous figure, plus the sheer quality of donated prizes, goes a long way towards demonstrating just how hard the Landmark team has been working to raise awareness and generate support within their local community.
Amanda Hodsman, Head of Client Liaison at Landmark Plc, says that their events have been "a great success", adding that not only has everyone involved enjoyed the events but clients and supporters have also been "exceptionally generous" in their donations.
"Landmark Plc is very grateful to every one of its clients for their contribution," says Amanda. "The money couldn't have been raised for a more deserving charity and we hope to support more fundraising initiatives in the near future."
Indeed, Amanda and the rest of the team are already looking ahead to more fundraising opportunities, including the possibility of sponsored sports events.
Along the same theme, BCA Member ip-Xchange is holding its own sports event to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust. On Friday 15th May, ip-Xchange will hold a charity golf day in Sutton Coldfield starting from midday, with an evening meal and refreshments included. Find out more here.
The efforts of all BCA Members, complete with generous donations from workspace clients and friends of the industry, means that we are inching ever closer to our grand target of £25,000.
We still have some way to go, but with the fantastic efforts of all concerned and many more events still to come - including a charity auction at this year's Conference - the BCA is confident that together we will smash our target and make a huge difference for a very worthy cause.
