As the 13th awards in the year 2013, does that make the number 13 lucky for some? Perhaps, given that some organisations had very good reason to celebrate that night.
Gareth Smith of officebroker.com, IT and telecoms supplier essensys, and flexible workspace operators Garden Studios, Landmark Plc and Business Environment all scooped awards at the ceremony, which followed a special 1920's theme in homage to The Great Gatsby.
The event was held at the magnificent Sheraton Park Lane Hotel in Piccadilly, where attendees donned their finest gladrags and stepped into the Roaring Twenties with gusto.
With almost 1,000 client nominations, the award shortlist was a hotly contested affair.
A panel of independent judges had the challenging and unenviable task of selecting an overall winner from four award categories.
The BCA would like to offer its sincere congratulations to 2013 industry award-winners, which are:
- Broker Representative of the Year: Gareth Smith, officebroker.com
- Trade Supplier of the Year: essensys
- Independent Business Centre of the Year: Garden Studios
- Group Business Centre of the Year: Landmark Plc, Heron Tower

In addition to the above awards, a special accolade was introduced for 2013.
"As this years' judges reflected on all the nominations, they asked me what I considered a significant question: how many times has Business Environment been a finalist or a winner of the BCA Awards?" said Jennifer Brooke, Executive Director of the BCA.
The answer? A whopping 12 times, with either a winner or a finalist - sometimes both - every consecutive year since 2006.
"None of this happens by accident, quite the opposite," Jennifer continued. "The Directors of Business Environment have created an environment where excellence is expected.
