BCA Award-Winner Clarendon Makes a Successful Start to 2013

Having rounded off a successful 2012 by winning the BCA's Business Centre of the Year Award, Clarendon Business Centres is making a positive start to 2013 with a new London location.

At the BCA we believe in celebrating excellence. And that's exactly what we did in November when we announced that Clarendon Business Centres had won the prestigious BCA Business Centre of The Year 2012 award for Oxford-based Prama House. The award rounded off a very successful year for Clarendon, which saw the team launch a new business centre in Oxfordshire and welcome many new clients to their UK-wide locations.

Now the flexible office company is continuing its success rate - and kicking off 2013 as it means to go on - by announcing the launch of a new business centre in London.

Chester House in Fulham, which is due to open next month, marks Clarendon's 12th business centre location and their first foray into London. Although the centre has not yet been officially opened, it is already 20% let and based on current demand, the team expect to reach occupancy levels of around 30% at the time of launch.

Speaking to the BCA about the new London centre, Operations Director Candy Woodington explained more about Chester House and what it means for Clarendon.

"We're very excited about it," she said. "It has always been part of our plan to set up a business centre in London. But we chose our site extremely carefully. We never wanted to muscle into a saturated area or pick the first building we came across. We wanted to make sure that it would fit with our ethos, our standards, and be somewhere that our clients would feel at home.

"Chester House ticks all of those boxes," she added. "It's a smart building on a beautifully kept site, and it has a wonderful community feel which we're looking forward to building on."

Testament to the quality of Chester House, two members of the Clarendon team successfully applied to relocate to the new centre, and will become part of the on-site management team when it opens in March. The team will run the centre with the support of a quality infrastructure supplied by industry specialists essensys and RJmetis, which are providing the centre's IT, billing and client management systems.

Clarendon expect to welcome a wide demographic of businesses to Chester House including start-ups, SMEs and larger corporations that are looking for a more flexible workspace alternative. A number of enquiries to date have originated from medium and large organisations that are looking to relocate from inner London to a more accessible location.

All in all it's a very positive time for the Clarendon team. "It's very exciting and Chester House will make a fantastic addition to our portfolio," Candy added.

And do the team hope to repeat their success of winning last year's BCA award?

"I hope so!" says Candy. "We have just won officebroker.com's Business Centre of the Month Award in January for the second time. So watch this space!"
